Mooching along a hedgerow with my rimfire looking for a couple of rabbits , or just sitting outside my tiny caravan in my woodland, just looking at the very poor quality stone wall that I built , and heads that I carved. I buy stuff from time to time , but I only ever buy things that have a purpose( tools , guns etc). I just don't feel the need to have all the trimmings like some people do , but fair play to those that do , if it makes you happy , then go for it . Mind you . It stands a pretty good chance that they are the ones that you're thinking about mack . I stuck pretty closely to the pics that I found on the Internet. Doing things like sitting on a log , just carving , using a chisel that I forged myself (from a van coil spring) , and a oak mallet that I made myself ( from a windblown oak) . My wife has travelled a lot (including a year in one of the kibbutz which was recently attacked and a year as a teacher in Japan) but I never get the urge. Even after watching Race Around the World and thinking "Wow! German is a strange language, words like “zeitgeist “, “schardenfruede”, etc, that we don’t have a single word equivalent in English, and now I have “fernweh” to add to my vocabulary to bore dinner guests with !
