Sounds brill that timmy and fair play for being a great grandad my dad isn't interested in mine or my sisters kids infact he's never even met mine says he's to to busy with rugby and holidays just have to think it's his loss but I do feel sorry for the kids especially now my oldest at 7 is starting to ask question I'll just have to be honest with him at some point abd tell him his grandads a waste of time and was given the chance.

Tent wise mate it might pay you to go to a Go Outdoors shop. The bigger ones will have loads of tents set up in store so you can see what you're actually buying. I would go Air beam tent now if I was after a big one again as it was divorce shit putting up my old 8 man Outwell Montana with a bloody head strong Mrs!! If you're after something smaller and cheaper a flexi poled 4/5 manner will be fine and still easy to pitch. Try to get to a shop mate and pick their brains!!

Can have this up in 10 minutes on my own and doesn't take much longer putting it away, might be a bit big for  yourself and 2 kids but they come in lots of different sizes.

I'm in Central Lancashire by the way..

Lakes mate there used to be a couple of places that allowed portable bbqs or firepits. I'll see if I can dig them out tomorrow. One was in Eskdale or near and another one near Keswick.

Father in law has a camp site between skipton and settle. £20 a night for you and the kids. Fire pits, bbqs etc he's proper relaxed about everything. Little shop, showers, play area etc. Our lads love it, barely come home in the summer

Camping isn't my thing so I can't compare it to anything but don't think you can go wrong for twenty quid. It's called Primrose Park at tosside.

Iv got some permission round there funnily enough thanks for that it sounds ideal

Lots of tackle around there, if you have permission or a camp site to run back to your golden finally the bunnies seem to be making a little bit of a comeback, hopefully they are still there come winter.

There's a little beck that runs down the back of it, ours spend hours down there making dens and trying to catch fish. There is a couple of little fisheries 20 mins or so away if you want them to actually catch something
