Chevy Chase 79
Mitch and Wally, proud hunters from the Northumbrian coalfields of Ashington stand here today as the living legacy of over 30,000 years of man hunting with dogs, natural hunting. They don't write this stuff in books, they actually DO it and practise the arts handed down over generations. This is sacred stuff. It's in their DNA. The cultural heritage of mankind is man's oldest try at life.....hunting. Labour is trying to eradicate their way of life and persecuting a minority group with protected beliefs in a campaign of misguided class warfare. This is their story. Seen this doing the rounds thought it may interest some who’ve not seen it… Cheers 7 1 Quote Link to post

tatsblisters 9,689
Really enjoyed this video I bet there's a few ex miners like me who could tell a tale or two who had lurchers when the strike was on when going out in pursuit of game became more than an hobby and a bit of fun. The accent reminded me of a lad from up Durham way I used to know years ago who another mate got to know when they were steel erecting when the big shopping mall Meadowhall was being built. Latchy was his nickname and I often wonder if he's still into the lurchers. 3 Quote Link to post

toolebox 1,545
It breaks my heart to see hunting with dogs to be labled unhealthy, sick, bloodthirsty, a crime in the making, when not that long ago it was viewed very differently. The act of keeping hunting dogs was a way of life, not only did the result of a hunt feed families in very tough time's, it was a shared passion. Country folk came together at fairs and local working dog shows, it was the very reason, all sat side time to go, to catch up with others in the sport. Hunting with dogs was in their DNA, it fed the working man's soul, it was an important part of country life, woven into the very fabric of what it was to be country, but it stood for much more, it was an important part of us all. Town people do not understand, it's lost on them, and sadly they don't want to know, their minds are made up. Not content with being non hunters, non meat eating, they want to make our minds up for us too, they want this practise of hunting with dogs totally outlawed. This idea they have of country life and ways is not realistic in any shape or form, for many it's a new age idea sweeping the world, speaking for myself, it's a new level of madness, and for the first time in a very long time, I'm glad I'm on the other side of 60, this is not the world I grew up in and for that I'm grateful. fred90 3,228
it's listening to the do gooders by both Conservative and Labour politicians that's got us into the mess we are in today, what a state of affairs when there is now no one worth voting for. 3 Quote Link to post
