TOMO 26,240
had a look up the dales yesterday with nobby , fieldmarshal and there mate. started the day well, by ferreting INDORS in a barn thats some bunnys were heading for. we got 7 out of there then we did a few small burrys along a stone wall acouting for 7-8 more. we then did another barn inside. 1 bolted straight a way but 2 more kept giving the ferts the run around under a concreate floor. so i told them lot to move on , whilst i waited for my two jills. eventualy after a long wait a rabbit came close to a net and was squeeling , so i shoved me hand in and grabbed it. but there was still another under there rattling around, it came to the nets just pushing it nose against them . but it wasn't going to bolt. so i thought feck it and took the 3 nets up that were over the slab . my thinking being , if it goes out the door the dog will catch it, or it will back net its self. thats [bANNED TEXT] happened it back netted. any way we carreid on doing some more burries, some with the long net some with the purse nets, total bag for the day was 41. but there only 39 in the pic 2 were left at the othe car first thing field marshal with the poodle and the fettle/splodge pup litter sister to mine. Guest little_lloyd
Looks like it was a very emjoable outing you had there TOMO I have a warren by our lake that is situated in an old cow barn,, im in double minds whether or not to do that one or not why dont you know weather to do it? There is a pile of old machinery on the far side and the warren is defently under there too. Ive already had a bad experience with ferreting dodgy warrens like this which ended up in a five hour dig through rubble,, rocks and shite to a stuck ferret,, i dont really want to risk that again. But i dont think its a concrete floor under neath,, the warren is a dug into a straw flooring. But its a nice big warren and one side of my mind says go for it,, the other says nay way lloydy,, But i will have a look and decide come the moring. LL Quote Link to post
