They’re a bunch of animals really. It’s not really anything todo with young farmers anymore. They used to have events for public speaking etc but the yfc pulled out of any of the organising and the pubs and clubs obviously enjoy having them there for the weekend. Must be a good earner because they will trash the place.

So it's just for puffs now then calling themselves farmers lol.

I was invited to do a talk on pest control for the young farmers and I really enjoyed it....they all got involved asked good questions, I was there hours.

Our local hunt has done a barn up as a meeting room full of hunting pictures and they regularly host young farmers visits. I think one group of YF's now use it as a regular meeting venue. Still very farming orientated the local groups I think.

Some one sent me this video. Blackpool is one of them places I will probably never go to again in my life though I have happy memories of the place as a kid as it used to be a popular destination for the working man's club trips once a year were all us kids would receive a small brown envelope and pop and crisps halfway through the journey to the holiday destination. Can't seem to upload the video it's taken by Lee Anderson as he takes a walk through the backstreets of Blackpool.

It seemed exotic as a kid, the donkeys and shoddy guesthouses, like yourself I doubt I will ever return.

Nostalgia, it's good to remember sometimes mate.

I seem to remember it more the older I get mate. Though in all honesty my favourite place on the WMC day trips in the 6 week school holidays was always Bridlington were a gang of us all junior school age would make our way to the harbour and buy the orange coloured crab lines and some bait to fish off the harbour wall then when we got fed up went around the little shops and most of us bought pocket knives of some description then of course it was off to the arcades to spend what was left of the money that came in the little brown envelope that one of the clubs committee man had given us all on our journey there. I remember the worst place we visited on these trips and it was Southport were the tide never seemed to come in.lol

Blackpool,Whitley bay or Scarborough for us,but living on the coast I didn’t really appreciate them as much as I should have. The world has changed massively since we were kids,I remember going to Durham on a school trip, about 12 miles,it seemed like the other side of the planet.Kids today are far more global animals.
