In truth mate I have never worn a watch in my life, have a couple of property’s to clear out before selling so everything needs to go I have a box en route from that vintage cash cow so will just bomb it all in there and see what comes, I,m assuming the Rolex is a snide or it wouldn’t have been left behind no paperwork found with it either

To answer the original question, I’d say when it comes to recognizing a high-quality watch, the movement is key. Swiss movements are often considered the best, and you can usually tell a lot from the smoothness of the second hand’s movement. Another thing to look for is the weight – good watches often have a bit more heft to them. And of course, details in craftsmanship, like the finishing on the case and the dial, are crucial.

I've recently been looking at some really detailed replicas, and came across this site https://replicapatekphilippe.io. Honestly, some of their pieces look pretty close to the real deal. Obviously, they're not for everyone, but if you're curious or just want a decent watch without breaking the bank, it might be worth a look.
