Lamping last night

Recommended Posts

The weather was so perfect last night i just had to go out, even though i had to be up 05.15 this morning ... again!

We got there about 9.30 and had the usual decision about whether to park where we always get hassle off the neighbourhood watch :censored: or where we have to walk miles to get the wind in the right direction. Went for the long walk low hassle option though why they are so obsessed with vans is beyond me, especially as they know i have permission.

it was good gusty wind with no rain and a nice dark sky. Had a good run and miss in the first field then started the hike all the way round the rabbitless part of the farm so we could come into the good fields facing the wind. Tyla is now no trouble through or over fences and was raring to go as we approached the "good bit". She caught 3 out of 6 runs and was working them like a pro, turning them back out of the hedge and into the field again and again and striking well. i was over the moon especially as she only caught her first on the lamp last week :toast:

She turned one straight towards me and in an attempt to block it i fell over  and lamped the rest of the run lying down! She caught the rabbit and it wasnt until we were half a field away i realised i dropped my phone :wallbash: fter looking aimlessly for a bit i was on the point of going home to get another phone so i could call it to find it when luckily the beam caught it :boogie:

Overall a great evening and im even now toying with the idea of going out again tonight although i have to admit i felt a bit ropey this morning!

Thanks Saluki, she is an absolute diamond, couldnt be happier! All i need to do now is work on her retreive :icon_redface:

Dantheman - When i got her i was told the dam was saluki x grey and the sire lab/staff x grey but the parents were rescue pets so no way of knowing really. She seems to be up for the job though and thats what counts!

Hes coming on great, a proper little hooligan. He has a serious prey drive already and has been out to watch on the lamp and ferreting although he dosent have the patience for that yet. He also got nailed by one of the ferrets, which made him squeal. Hes very obedient too. Shape wise he sounds like yours, solid, chunky whippet with a good head. Amy has recent pics on her camera and i will get her to put them up later. Do you know how the others, that kreet and weejohn took, turned out? i reckon he will be a cracking little bushing and lamping dog.
