ShaggyRS6 0
Well the hutch arrived this morning at 08:00 as promised, the guys were up at 03:00 to deliver it to me and intsall. It came from up North. It was packed into the back of a LWB Transit and they had it erected in about 60 mins. As you can see it made from sturdy wood. Cant remeber the type he said, it also has a rubber roof. Both Floor sections are removable so new ones can be fitted if and when they rot. I actually fitted some horse mat's to the run part. I did not bother with the bedding area as I was sure Brian would not do his business there. True to form he has started going righ in the corner by the door making cleaning easy. As you can see there is a small door conecting the run to the living quaters. I am gonna leave this open over night as I dont really think it will effect the Temp too much. What I will do is cut a hole higher up in the living quaters and run some ladders so he can get in that way too. You will notice the 2 boxes i got for him and his friends (when they arrive) to live in. They are actually Parrot nesting boxes I got from a workshop in East Malling called Kent Cages. I also got 2 5ft laders and some ply too nail to the back. Last night I got some drainage pipe from B&Q and have cut some of that up, although at the moment he does not seem to keen on using that, prefering the canvas tube we got a few weeks ago. Well pleased with the Court/Hutch whatever you want to call it. Its the Dogs..... Quote Link to post

stubby 175
looks good shaggy, and them parrot boxes look good too, maybe get the black pipe in the outside part and fix to the back wall, can wind it into coil, or figure "s" shape, then back down, give you more floor space Quote Link to post
dantheman09 0
any room for one more (myself) looking good mate Quote Link to post

the_stig 6,614
looks nice . if it were mine i`d raise it off the floor a bit more , put an extra bar across the middle of the door , and a timber about a foot high from the bottom of the run , and get it coated up with wood preserver asap , jmo Edited February 6, 2008 by the_stig Quote Link to post
Guest Bigbob
I'd just raise it on bricks to let the air flow under it safe the floor from rotting Quote Link to post
ShaggyRS6 0
Cant do that big bob. The floor is actually not attached. It sits in there flush. Its only downside it the run flooring could do with being as strong as the living quaters flooring Quote Link to post
ShaggyRS6 0
Another question. how do I get a hammock in there? I got a Rat Cargo net and ferret hammock from a pet shop, but cant think how to fix it up/ Quote Link to post
Hob&Jill 258
You probs would find it easier if you pin some thin plywood to the inside of the door frame, so when you open the door they cannot run out, but you can step over it. Quote Link to post

ShaggyRS6 0
Good idea Stig. Cost of the whole thing Inc Delivery and Install was £295 They go on Ebay as low as £200 if your in the North and can pick it up. Have in mind that the hutch I have next to it was £120, good value. I know you can make your own for peanuts. But for people like me who have not got the time or inclination, its perfect. Quote Link to post
