Neal 1,857
Until about ten years ago, the only time I ever saw red kites was when we went a little farther north (I live in South Hampshire). Now I see several every year. Also, two species which I always thought of as West Country species were the buzzard and jackdaw. When I was growing up I very rarely saw them until we went on holiday to Cornwall or Devon. I always found that, the farther west we drove, the magpies petered out and were replaced by jackdaws. While I was at art college in Falmouth in the early 90s it was all jackdaws and virtually no magpies. Now, although the magpies are still commonest, I see jackdaws and buzzards daily. I wonder if that's why jackdaws are one of my favourite birds; because they remind me of Cornwall. Edited April 16 by Neal

Further out still, head out overnight to Woburn Abbey area and it’s unbelievable, muntjac just walking about at the side of the lanes, fallow, CWD……brilliant I know where you mean just near the Bell Common Tunnel im literally minutes from there i can look out the window upstairs and see groups of Fallow across the fields most days,Muntjac as well......The Copped Hall Estate which is old Rod Stewart land is a short walk through the forest for me where we often get groups of Roe as well.
