mushroom 12,878
Santorini will do your head in mate. Packed to the rafters with tourists. Madrid transport can be an absolute nightmare in terms of direct journeys. So I would suggest getting digs not too far away from the stadium.

Mushroom, how do you deal with female gypsy aggressive/ persistent hustling and begging? They are a major pain in the arse in Madrid and Barca.

They are a major pain in the arse in Madrid and Barca. In Madrid it’s actually not that bad. In Barcelona (which is defo far worse), I just walk around with an evil stare in my eyes and tell them in Spanish “Vete” ( ve-te) or “Vete a la calle” (calle is pronounced kaiyay) I never seem to have problems with them. I did launch a lady of African decent a couple of years ago because she tried to bump and rob my daughter. She went flying on her arse with me screaming in Spanish “touch my daughter bitch and I’ll fuuck you up” The tourists were horrified and the Spanish were clapping lol. I guess it is just watch out for them, never carry anything in your back pockets and DO NOT let anyone touch you. Just don’t engage with them at all. 1
tatsblisters 9,515
Don't know what it is this year even though though me and the wife are ready for an holiday I just don't feel one bit enthusiastic about going abroad probably down to who we have booked with changing the flight times 3 times since we booked it over a year ago and due to this well known companies poor customer service I won't be booking with them again. I'm the same I dont want to go and then when I get there I don't want to come home. I hate airports and queuing and being prodded and poked during security. You feel as though you are being budget processed. Prices have jumped as well. I don't think cheap foreign holidays exist any more. I like flying though and still get a childlike bang when the plane accelerates before take off. We are holidaying in the UK this year. Although the average price for a cottage is now about a grand. I think with me it's the thought of going somewhere were it's the same old same. I have suggested a few places like India and South Africa but she won't have it somewhere totally different so Europe it is though like I have said previously I really enjoyed Croatia and the island we stopped on and that was one of them holidays I didn't want to come back from. Same as my wife. She won't go outside Europe. I used to love Greece but its a bit samey for me now. It always strikes me that the Greeks are pretty lucky compared to living and working in Northern England. They dont know what's it's like to have shit weather most of the year or clock on to work in dirty dangerous jobs. They have less euros to spend but a much better quality of life imo.
