Looks like a slow worm to me, Ray .

Easy to find out; pick it up by its tail; if it sheds its tail, it’s a slow worm…if it bites you, it’s a snake ! LOL !

It’s a slow worm I’ve had them hidden in my shed in the past they are actually a legless lizard not a worm or a snake or a pissed lizard before somebody jumps on it lol…

I think it's a male as the females have a black line down the back...or have I got that the wrong way round? I know the males sometimes have blue spots too.

They used to be in the Tyne valley at Plankey Mill camp site,I found a few there as a kid,and an adder.
