paulus 26
XC901s are prone to the crank oils seals going, a very expensive repair if your not capable of doing it yourself. Another fan of the Rav4, i had a 2,5ltr hybrid until a couple of years ago, great motor. For fishing i use a 23 year old Citroen Despatch. ex wheel chair converted jobby, its great, just drop the ramp, roll the trolley in, lock it in place with the special wheel belts, put the ramp up, shut the doors and all's good. Qbgrey 4,091
The older discos are good I always heard, but more reliable than the disco 3, 4. I’m looking at a dog/shoot/knock about motor. Hilux too £££ and last new one I had was rubbish. Like the old patrols, Land Cruiser but then I’m wondering about a 110 defender crew cab as they will never drop in value. The l200 are nice but will drop in value like most other motors

FLATTOP 4,479
I’ve got one of the newer Landcruisers Lc5 owned it for five years almost 100% reliable I had a suspension sensor go which for an 18 year old car was reasonably good going, other than that never lets me down and goes any where.

Gypsydog94 4,594
I got a xtrail hardly spend a penny on it between mot’s had odd big mot bill but for a 18 year old car that’s expected. Carry multiple terriers lurchers and hounds along with tools in the back no bother

dogmandont 9,836
The big 4x4 motors are a money pit if you don't have a genuine reason for having one besides posing at the school gates and the only ones worth having are the 3 litre and above.
philpot 5,002
I had a Honda CRV 4x4 series 2, never spent any money on it, totally reliable, had it for over 4 years doing 160,000 miles, my lasy company car but it was good off road as well. Now have a BMW X3 4x4, very nice but to change the timing chain I had to hire a gantry to lift out the engine, big job but my son in law did it for me as the best quote was £2400, it actually cost me around £500 in all...................love it though.
