Didn’t know there were tin mines in the north east. May have been but I’ve not heard of them.

Lead mines up in weardale,never heard of tin mines though,that’s a Cornish thing?

Wow, some hardy blokes to do that job.

It gives  a Londoner like me some understanding of the passion behind the strikes and what it must have meant to a breed of British men who did that job.

Those men and their communities should never have been wiped out, it’s a shame I didn’t have this understanding in my youth, it was a time that a lot of the nation read The Sun and believed it……how naive we were :(
