fred90 3,205
seem to be rare these days, regularly used to see fox terrier, Staffordshire, Russell, crossed with whippet, made good little mooching, ferreting dogs etc. Quote Link to post
hot dog 133
A nice little lurcher 19-21 for ratting,bushing/mooching,ferreting odd lamping session would suit me about now.Thought they'd be more popular Quote Link to post
fred90 3,205
a good whippet will do all that, so will beddywhippet if you can find the right sort. 1 Quote Link to post
hot dog 133
I'd like to a see patterdale or Jack russell x.id but one. Quote Link to post
Lloyd90 509
You’d expect them to yap, which can be counter productive for a bit of discreet mooching. Quote Link to post
hot dog 133
A yap shouldn't bother anybody while ratting, mooching and ferreting. To me they'd be a good sporting country dog 1 Quote Link to post

Hands of Stone 154
I have a young fell terrier which I'm going to put over my lurcher bitch if he's as good as I'm hoping he will be Quote Link to post

My Russell bitch never makes a sound except when guarding the house, also my male Parson is silent when hunting, it's the only time he's quiet, lol. I think either of these crossed with a whippet wouldn't yap so maybe pick a quiet terrier for the cross? Quote Link to post
Aussie Whip 4,092
Terrier /whippets are a rare cross to see in Oz as the whippets or terriers do the different jobs but I would have liked a whirrier when doing pest control for certain spots. Edited April 1 by Aussie Whip Quote Link to post
Penda 3,341
Alas I'm still in search of a real good hackett white I fear this breed may of been lost in the bowls of time Quote Link to post
