I just picked up a simple shot one, great fun learning it. Quite accurate in the back yard which was about 30 meters and with practice could get better my shoulders are a bit worn out from forty years of plastering and the tubes are quite heavy so repetitive shooting ain’t really an option for me but it only takes one shot if your surviving, ambush hunting sitting above deer and pig runs is the way to go if you needed dinner

Am practicing at about 11 yards and not doing to bad considering only been at it 4 days or so .

You would have to get very very close to your quarry to have any success. I would imagine optimum field craft. Must be unbelievable field craft mate and patience must be the ultimate virtue. I recently downloaded one of Ron Thompsons big game book series' off Amazon about the black rhino capture in the 60s were the early dart guns he had to get withing 15 yards to dart a sleeping black rhinos where one false move like stepping on any debris or being wrong winded could result in him being gored or killed.

I absolutely agree mate , a lot of field craft involved . Must admit I love watching it on YouTube.

Just got delivered to work today . Been mad busy in work so only ad an hour to mess with it. Set it up and tuned it , manage to find centre point with tape and string to set arrow rest and set 1st pin on pin sight to 10 meters . First thoughts , it shoots great ! For a cheap chinky now ! To be honest am impressed. It’s tiny compared to a normal compound . Overall pretty chuffed !!!

Wolfdog91 7,043
Would Also suggest getting yourself a lil fletching set up , your going to end up popping off fletchings and it's not hair to replace them yourself, pretty satisfying imo

How has it been learning to shoot a bow ? The hardest part was setting up/ tuning the bows. I had arrows going all over till I googled it and watched a load of YouTube vids on how to find your centre shot. Also changing the draw length was a faff, but sussed it. After that shooting seemed pretty easy. Fancy trying a recurve now, that seems a whole different ball game !

As supposed fly better and the ones I ordered from states, customs wouldn't let them thru. So make my own it is. Is that a Black Hunter recurve ? They get great reviews for a budget recurve.
