On Sunday I ordered a cheap recurve bow off Amazon only thirty odd quid to see if I could learn how to shoot a traditional bow with no sights, it only has a 20lb draw. So I googled the fec out of how to shoot traditional and decided on a method called string walking. So with in half an hour I was hitting the targets at 10 meters and pleased with my groupings, was pretty chuffed with myself actually lol. It’s addictive and a stress buster from work . This string walking technique takes a bit of getting used to tho.

I'm three under all day. Mine is a little weird though. My anchor point is the corner of my mouth but I use the tip of my middle finger. This lines up everything much better and lets me aim down the arrow to the target much easier

I've tried three under and shifting anchor points and can't hit fek all. Been starting at  10 meters and string walking seems to be the only way I can hit the target but I don't really like it, it feels strange moving down the string. I would much prefer split or 3 under.

Wolfie you shoot of the shelf or with beaver fur on it ? Or a plastic or metal stick on rest ? Am trying both , but find the arrow stays on better with the plastic rest. But they just cheap ones off Amazon and only lasted 3 days.

Had a bit of practice with slingbow before after work to chill out. Had a small drama last night and de railed my triangle compound bow  ffs , so will have to get it fixed somewhere. But got some nice groups at 10 meters , obviously never going to be as accurate as a compound, but I reckon you could hunt with one abroad were legal .

I shoot off the shelf. ,but haven't gotten around to getting some nice fur for it so I just got the soft part of some Velcro and stuck on it..now one thing I'll say when it comes to shooting off of the shelf is feathers just work better then vanes. Why ? Well that compress down against the side of the bow vs the vanes that just stay stuck out . So it's like a smooth flow with the feathers vs a hard bump over with vanes.

That being said if you using on of the little plastic rest arm deals that's different.

Now back to my aiming. I don't like this. I string walk till is get where I want as far as elevation so say I'm on elevation wise 2" down  I'll tie a lil knot there or something from then on at that distance that where I'm placing my finger . It sets it I guess you could say. Now I like three under because it lets me get the arrow in like with my eye. I'll bring it up so when the tip of my middle finger ( my anchor is a bit odd but works for me) is in the corner of my mouth I'm looking down the nock of my arrow ,down the shaft to the top and to my target.

Was just having a mess around with broadheads. They seem to alter the flight path some heads. The slingbow is very sensitive to them and it really alters my accuracy, we’re as the compound is more tolerant probably due to far greater speed and power I would imagine. And some of them wreck my foam target getting them out , but all good fun plinking. Must say these are all cheap Chinese broadheads apart from the cold steel poly plastic ones.

These are just crap and the slingbow can’t even fire them in a straight line lol. And with the compound they shoot off centre, look the part but cheap crap.
