No car is any better than another nowadays mate you get a Friday car that breaks every ten minutes or a Monday car, a rolls Royce will have a fiat part on and so on and so on, buying new cars is a lot

There was a maestro turbo that was a cozzie (escort) killer ..  Cars of the past have a lot more character imo .

A mate of mine complete petrol head has owned a lot of cars, and has settled on an A3 quattro 3.2 v6 I think basically a golfr with 4x4 cheap enough if you can find one

Watched a thing about the new Tesla battery/Hydrogen car that they have developed. 0 - 60 in less than 2 seconds.

Tesla roadster was quoted as 1.9s 0 60 ....it was just a dream lol

Not bothered about the VAG group, Passat has scared me off.

Always going to be someone faster than you in a straight line ,  it's about the buzz you get from a car, straight line figures mean nothing in the real world.

You can get a 3 cylinder yaris that drags 0-60 in 4.6   and will beat most things on a B road 😆

Yeah they are a homologation car , I did read that toyota actually lose money on them , a real little weapon in the right hands and have turned out to be pretty bulletproof,  i had my doubts about the 3 cylinder 👍

Got to say I had a passenger ride in a cosworth turbo around 500bhp in a mk1 escort 185 x 13s all round that had no carpets the noise was deafening I thought the car was just going to fold in half needless to say rear tyres were done in a few miles lol.

I would pick a nice bimmer every time comfort speed reliability economy they seem to have it sewn up 20 year ago not sure about recent years tbh

I drove M2 Competition a few years ago, hit 165mph in no time. But like you say, they feel that planted it's not hair raising, my arse has twitched more in an old Civic Type R, but then again that's always the case when you're a passenger.

And you've just nicked it 🤣
