While the cats away...catch some perch!

Recommended Posts

With the wife taking our 2 daughters to Manchester for the weekend, it was time to get some perching done... I've a list as long as my arm to do at our place, but I wasn't in the mood this weekend..lol

We're starting to see a few decent perch come out of the ponds we use for the THL comp, so Saturday I had a session on my own, chopped worm and maggot and fished worm over the top..

It was busy enough with a few decent crucians, a fair few bream and a carp that gave me the run around on lightish gear... managed 2 perch 1 around a pound the other just over 2lb..Nice day though..

Arranged to meet Sean C on Sunday morning, to try again, conditions were great overcast and warm.. same set up for me, Sean was using monster lob worms on the hook, I was using a few sections of dendrebena...

Another good day, the owner asked us to move some silvers into another pond, so we set up keepnets and had a good load of skimmers, bream, roach and a few crucians... Sean had a decent carp on his massive snake like worm.. and the perch showed up..

I had 4 fish 3 over 2lb biggest 2lb 5oz Sean had 4 perch 1 over 2lb and 3 around the pound mark... really good day, good banter as always...
