I've never caught a tope but big winter pike are generally not up to much, as I said above my biggest fish a winter pike fought like a gate post, just a dead weight, it gave a couple of lunges when it saw the net but nothing drastic, river fish tend to be gamer than still water, summer Jack's on the other hand tend to be quite feisty lots of jumping and tail walking as the attempt to throw the lure, despite their looks they are actually a very delicate fish and need a lot of rest after a scrap . 3 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
