Kay 3,709
I have watched all the programms on sky & was really shocked to hear the lads at the bottom off the ladder bring home just a thousand pound a month , i think thats pretty poor
PaulABF 2
Yup I watched it. Find it addictive. Give Ross his dues, he's the only 'luvvie' to put his life on the line and see what we do for a living first hand. Agree with what you say about the young lads wages but once they go up the promotion ladder their pay starts rising. I'm coming to the end of my career now and I'm going to be hard pushed to find an equivalent wage in civvy street.

I have really had my eyes opened i had no idea it was like that out there & some of them are so young , that really shocked me to be honest
stork 1
my mates are going back over for another 6-10 months this year they may even go to hellman provense (spelling) Hard work out there ???!!
PaulABF 2
The youngest you can be to legally die for your country is 18 these days. When I first joined it was 17 so some things are getting better. Hard work? Extremely. Temperatures out there in the summer routinely touch 50 degrees celcius and it doesn't help that the everyone and his grandad wants a pop at you. But, we all choose our jobs and in this current climate, the young 'uns know exactly what they're letting themselves in for. Never mind pigeons - man is the greatest quarry of all! Especially Mr Terry Taliban - they're not the dumb-witted tribesmen that the media make them out to be.

Guest SHOT
ive watched them and cant praise them lads enough. i was shocked when that ross asked the lads what there pay was like and they said a grand a month thats pitance a lot of folk wouldnt get out of bed for that so to risk getting shot for that money... it takes a sort dosent it,hope it ends some time soon. andy s410c 59
Have,nt got Sky but seen the trailers looks proper hardcore as it should be shown to the british public to see what the lads have to put up with.I was Royal Navy in the 90,s & i was taking home that sort of money i know the goverment have give them a tax break & a bonus type payment?? but with a Labour goverment the Armed Forces will never be better off IMO.Back to back tours, little time for family & friends ,no wonder they can,t get anybody to stay in or join up.Don,t get me started on National Service
lurcherchavvy 3
seen quite a few of them my girlfriend used to always put it on but its good to see our boys out there fighting for our country.....shame a few of them lost there lives and come home with wounds and that but thats the risk they took aint it
Tis TM 8
Well, I nearly chose to be an Ostritch, but my other half wanted to watch them, and after just watching through the doorway while I was washing up on the first episode... I was rivited! I thought I might get a bit upset ... ( cant watch war films either) ... but as the episodes went on, It eased a bit The thing that amazed me was the team morral, I mean, I'm not sure if it was for the camera or not, but they all seem in fairly good spirits, having a good banter, and not seeming too phased. I guess thats the sort of person you have to be to do a job like that. Personally, I think the boys out there are amazing, but being brutally selfish, I would hate for any of my three boys to choose to join the army. (I wouldn't of course try to stop them though) The boys from the British Army are amazing..... I just hope that there's an end to this soon....
Kay 3,709
Its been the best thing i have watched on telly for ages, i hope some of the points he made at the end are taken on board such as the food was intended for a war in freezing weather not 50 degrees he also said he was appaled at the pay , all in all the whole programme was well presented & very enlightning, i also saw some of the series he did on the worlds gangs , again very well done imo, so i hope he does some more programms
