paulus 26
If lawlessness did break out, My idea would be to get a good few people you can trust to take over a high rise building, Preferably one without a lift. Barricade yourselves in there, It would be far easier to defend a stairwell from an elevated position than to try to protect a house.

Wolfdog91 7,102
Depends. Down here what most would consider prepping isn't really considered prepping just common sense . Because there's certain time did the year, mainly hurricane season where it's a yearly deal and you my end up not having water electricity and similar form a few days in average to a few months in more extreme cases. Two to three weeks being about average. So just about eveyone worth a shit has 6-12 cases of bottled water , a generator of some sort ( me I just have a little tail gater generator that can charge my devices and run some lights on an extension cord) power banks ,small solar panels , a decent stock of non perishable food , some way to boil water ( why most houses down here still run gas stoves and most if us have our own propane tanks attached to our houses ). Eveyone has extra gas cans you keep full all year, never wait till shits about to happen to try and get 50gal of gas. Also all the gear for your chainsaws and the like. O an having extra, because down here helping out your neighbor is a big thing. Also most have bug out bags , not really prepper stuff but more like " hay it might flood we need to leave here's all our important documents and a few days worth of cloths and what not" Just about eveyone also has some type of half decent fishing set up because we have learned relying on super markets and stuff isn't the best idea. I know when Katrina hit and we where fishing and catching what we ate for a few days because the stores couldn't get anything in due to the roads being messed up and other stuff. There's also little stuff like keeping bags of ice and water bottles frozen in your deep freezers at all times. Why ? Power goes out those keep stuff cold for days. Now the doomsdays guys ...egh alot of them basically have a fetish with that stuff. No real world experience just a half assed plan and a lot of spare money. Got a friend who was a big pepper , big on the whole bug out thought process. Decided to see how prepared he was one day so me and one of my army friends invited him on a lil ruck march around campus. Nothing much only 5 miles. Our rucks had everything we needed for a 1 week FTX about where about 45lbs. His was like 30 something. 2miles in he about passed out because he never actually rucked like that. His drop leg holder kept getting caught up and we kept having to stop. His gear made too much noise ect. And don't get me started on food gathering with these people. Will put away a roll of 550 cord and say that's for their snaring and stuff when shit hits the fan but look at you like your crazy when you show them a modern snare set up and how easy it is to set up. Had one guy get so mad it wasn't even funny. Had five snares set and ready to go without breaking a sweat buy the time he was done with his first spring snare . Extension cables , pre made supports and camo painted snares. Edited January 31, 2024 by Wolfdog91

We used to hire this from Leos video hire Circa 1987, if Leo wasn't about his son Peter would serve us, it was the six week holidays and we were
