Believe me its not unconscious bias.

I'm sure you are very important and have done well for yourself after a dodgy start in life. Well done, genuinely. But your description of your 'superiors' did make me feel a tad squirmy.

But do me a favour. Pass a message from me to those 4 officers. Tell them I think they are probably complete arseholes. This is a conscious decision.

Bit of a prick in reality aren’t ya

we've been trying to fight for our country for some years but not in the way the people at the top want, now they want the people at the bottom to fight to protect what the people at the top have😠

Why would Russia invade us? Because our elites keep telling you they might?  The same elites that told all those young men that they were giving up their lives for 'freedom and democracy'? O

Quite easy, not a dinghies chance in a storm, the enemy is within, the left, weirdos, royals, just about everything wrong with society today, nahhh ill leave it to the anarchists, protestors and the r

To put it another way, we are pretty dour unexcitable people, not exactly world renowned for our positivity whereas Americans seem to be extremely positive, excitable people who all love to get behind something.

It seems, and I could be wrong, that when it comes to military service you have a sense of “doing it for America” which is why I asked you if you found it strange that so many lads on this thread were a bit “The country can go f**k itself”

Hope that clears it up for you

.....that seems very very.....not good if you want to..nevermind

I think as a nation we are pretty obedient. We are walked over by our politicians.

Alot of y'all conversations got me questioning if you can breed a society to be submissive and easily ruled... Very interesting

Why does it make you squirm to give an honest assessment of blokes ?

At this precise second I’m sat listening to Frank Lampard talk about his career and life in football, he is humble in describing how he respected coaches and fellow players in the game and also I can respect him without knowing him when he describes his own standards and how he wanted to conduct himself as a man and a player.

His record bares testament to those values.

Why does respecting and appreciating a man for what he has achieved make anyone squirm ?

That’s a bit of a “key the side of the rolls Royce” mentality mate…..it’s small mate, very small.

Now don’t go throwing your toys out the pram, but imho we imported a lot of that mentality because we embraced people who were always that.

Of course it’s our fault for buying into that, but you said “breed” and you are nearly right in as much as it’s been imported over decades…..maybe it’s just different ways of saying the same thing.

Sometimes, but I never respond to keyboard insults. It's demeaning. I also never write anything I wouldn't be prepared to say to a person's face. You are probably the same.

I only hope your superiors return the respect and admiration you afford them. I doubt it.

Everybody is a prisoner to their experiences of life. I've never met a member of the 'officer class' who I didn't despise for their  misplaced confidence and general world view which seems to entail them being entitled to all decision making. When they divide pies they think they can take 3/4 of it themselves.

The culture I was brought up in dictated you never crawl to the teacher or to the boss man. I still believe that. Sorry if that's offensive to some but that's my opinion and this is a forum where opinions are exchanged.

A rare moment of insight Mc. You are thriving under CP's guidance. You'll be singing the red flag soon.

Not going to be a issue to 95% of the population anyway if you look at this list of health reasons not to be conscripted. Dental care made me laugh considering you cant even visit the dentist unless your a millionaire in the UK and dont even get me started on anxiety and depression.

UK conscription: The health conditions that would make you exempt from serving in the Army (msn.com)
