no it's not a class thing at all wilf and i totally get what your saying and yes i could have flitted around Europe if i had wanted to but not coming from a wealthy family you have to prioritise  ,whereas i presume those lads who were socialising with prince Harry didn't really have to

Fair play mate, everyone has to prioritise it just depends what on imho mate.

we've been trying to fight for our country for some years but not in the way the people at the top want, now they want the people at the bottom to fight to protect what the people at the top have😠

Why would Russia invade us? Because our elites keep telling you they might?  The same elites that told all those young men that they were giving up their lives for 'freedom and democracy'? O

Quite easy, not a dinghies chance in a storm, the enemy is within, the left, weirdos, royals, just about everything wrong with society today, nahhh ill leave it to the anarchists, protestors and the r

Understood mate, but that’s not a class thing is it….that’s a choice you made.

You could have not had a mortgage and tucked your few quid away and gone and done any of that in reality, you just chose to do something else.

Nobody said you couldn’t did they, you did what you wanted to do.

It is a class thing in a way though, I have a REALLY good example but it would take a while to type the story. Average kid on a council estate is almost indoctrinated through surroundings, family, friends in their formative years, get a trade, get a house council/bought, settle down etc

Upper middle classes, uni, CAREER (not a job a CAREER) or business and the affluent lifestyle associated with such.

Most council estate kids are on the 9-5 wage slave treadmill from beginning to end, I know lots, one holiday a year to Spain and that's their lifestyle.

I have met a few agriculture type brits doing seasonal work in Canada, it's a big thing combine jobs, all came from moneyed families that opened their eyes to opportunities,I think it is a class type thing in the main.

I agree, that’s completely how it is….but nothing is physically holding them back is it ?

You seem a well travelled bloke and I may be wrong, but I’m guessing your parents don’t own 38,000 acres in Scotland and have dinner with Prince Charles…..you just had broader horizons.

But is anyone stopping them Purely because they don’t come from wealth ?

Nature versus nurture with a bit of insight, better education, encouragement and finance.

Totally agree mate but the finance anyone can do if they stash the dough away to do it.

I didn't have broader horizons, I just wanted to escape a homelife that wasn't what it should have been, my kids have far broader horizons because of the Bank of Dad.

And more importantly the advice and attitude of dad.

People on a council estate, the average person isn't educated or programmed like that, they don't see their parents save, and they see debt, educated classes learn how to use and invest in cash.

Have you opened the “Bank of Grandad “ yet, Mac ?

I have , but I’ve got the attitude that he’s only spending money he’d get anyway !

But I have got a little trust fund for him that  he can’t access ‘till he’s 18.

Cheers.

Again, totally agree.

But Jukel suggested that only “toffs” have these opportunities which is just plain not true.

I sold a bit of kit Aherns who had an office/yard in Crow Lane, Romford.

The old man started the firm, basically just a normal oik who earned all his money out of other peoples rubbish.

A dealer boots and braces kind of chap, him and his wife booked themselves the best cabin on the QE2 for a cruise……nobody was asking him if his mum and dad was lords.

He “face times “ and asks if I can get him Neymar Puma football boots as he can’t get them in Saudi.

I found them on sale at JD Sports in the Metro , £45, but it cost £58 to DHL them to him !

Next he wanted some football cards and a binder, I got the ones he wanted on Amazon, about £25, but £37 to DHL them !

Ah well, it’s only money and well worth it when I see the look on his face when I see him opening them !

Cheers.

Not everyone does because not everyone can, the world would cease to function if everyone was a boss.
