Butler 396
The hock is a totally diffrent part of the body than the arse but as you say a good dog will take any hold it has to, to get the job done. Quote Link to post

Rabbithunter 456
Historically speaking, i would always like to skin a deer without seeing any marks on it except the neck.... Although i would prefer a neck hold all the time, i would rather a dog hock it, then take a throat hold, if neccesary ANyway, thats allover now, thanks to the hunting ban !!!! Quote Link to post
Guest little lurcher
1 of the dogs i most admired was a parti colour big lurcher with a bit of bull in her owned by a good mate and to watch that bitch come from a true novice to take stuff single handed like they were nothing was like peotry in motion , certainly one id be interested in a pup outta if ever given the chance to run big stuff again , if he is reading , he will no i dont ever go for anything with bull in but she changed my mind in a spell of the season Quote Link to post
gavmac 0
26+, Fast, tight on the jinks, pulls from the shoulders to the neck. Just my opinion for what it is worth but a dog that takes deer in the manner you describe will miss alot more than it will take. I prefer a dog that takes a hock then moves to the throat once the deer is floored Have to agree . A dog that goes for the front end will loose a lot of deer where the fields are not that big , it can be a good style on the hill or big ground . Imo a dog will kill more going for the hock more or less tripping the deer up then round onto the throat . But thats just my opinion from what ive seen and ive seen one or two Quote Link to post

gavmac 0
Ive just gone through the thread.. and i can not believe what i am still seeing posted. ..I know some lad's are young and keen and need to show everyone what they have acheived.. and i also know they is lad's out there who need to tell everyone how many they have caught even though they have done it for year's.. But this is not the place to do it.. .. use your PM's and email's if you have any debatable pre ban pictures..as they can not be posted on here.. Millet Thats about the only decent thing ive read of yours welldone Quote Link to post
