Not so much an headstone but a memorial which I found interesting walking around Walton on the Naze today I met up with a few old retired railway mates for a bit of grub and a few pints and see this.

Great great grandfathers younger brother. Killed in the last month of the war. The regiment was on its way out of the line when they fell in to reinforce another action at short notice loosing 6 men.

Popped in after breakfast Sayers last fight against a far larger opponent the American John Herman, the fight went on for over two hours (Queen Victoria was briefed on how the fight was going every 30 minutes)before the crowd invaded the ring.

No mate, been to Paris countless times but have no interest in his music otherwise I would have sought his resting place out as I have an interest in tombstone tourism,I did see George Michael today (and his sister who passed three years to the day after him).

That’s the sort of thing that would interest me.The most interesting stone I saw today was George Wombwell the menagerist,he traded in wild animals, once tried to sell a rhino as a genuine unicorn,he owned for a short time jacco macacco the dog fighting ape,his niece and nephew were killed in a short period of time by one of his tigers and an elephant, and he staged pit fights between his lions and packs of dogs for the Victorian public, his favourite lion Nero which is on his stone fought six bull terriers at once and slew them all.
