I disagree totally, why are those things blessings? Send pics of your kids?....if it's that important post them, I guarantee a letter with some photos in would mean more than sharing pics instantly. Connect with people?..... I genuinely feel the old school connections were better, I remember writing to hunt secretaries ask permission to visit. Who do you connect with? Old school friends on Facebook? It's bollocks.source stuff?? Yeah and loose little fishing shops and stores etc.

Time saver? Slow down.....we always managed before.

Oh I get that.....I went into the travel agents and of course they used the internet. My point is I also went abroad in the 90's and it still worked. We have lost more than we have gained. Even trying to book on Tele text holidays gave a sense of adventure that has been lost with our new world where everything is a click away

You should slow down a tad.We used to walk instead of fly,it’s progress,I was in -15 the other week,freezing and about 30 minutes from home,went online and dialled the temperature up so it was toasty when I walked indoors.I watched a telesurgery operation on a screen last week in the Royal college of surgeons patient and surgeon were a thousand miles apart,the internet brings more positives than negatives,it’s how we use it that counts.

Ive got a Virtual reality course tomorrow ( whatever the fck that is ) if its anything to do with those fckn head sets I'll be there about 10 mins....fckn internet..

I agree some positives.....but very few. 

I'll never live in a house where I can set the temp before I get home. I'd rather come home cold and chop logs in the snow. It's the real world.

The internet/social media platforms are a  f***ing poison,does more harm than good imo.... especially if your a kid/teenager today...theres no escaping the bullies and spineless little maggots that hide behind a username...not just the kids...look how your told/encouraged to send emails,copying in others to cover your arse in the workplace? Always some other cnuts fault/problem ...the country and society as a whole has lost its backbone....I wont have a smart meter/Alexa or any other government listening device in my house,bad enough the software on your mobile phones is constantly choosing/controlling what you read/watch/listen too...Im a tech dinosaur...first time I ever sent an email I was 30 yrs of age joining this site the whole internet thing passed me by,I was out grafting, clubbing and living my life every weekend ,while others chatted shit and told the world what they got on facebook etc....and thats the way I like it,I use this site,and thats more than enough for me...its human nature,look at me,I got the latest blah, blah,blah superficial as f**k...most  may well, have the money for whatever they wish...dont make them a happy chappie deep down though ...money don't make you happy,when you suss that out,and surround yourself with like-minded people....the everyday nonsense,just goes straight over your head....let them Muppets deal with it,lifes to short

I've got to agree mate, I think everything is a pain in the ass now...from parking your car, using some shit app...no thanks I keep some coins in my truck fir that... paying with your phone...again no thanks, my Mrs and kids don't get why I don't put my card on my phone, I have a company debit card, a personal debit card and some cash... that's easy for me... I hate on live form filling, I never shop on line, this is the only place I yap on the Internet, I only came on here about 16 years ago to buy a dog, found the place interesting and kept at it...f**k fb, insta, twitter etc... I used to like going in a travel agents and booking a holiday, I liked looking in estate agents windows when we were after our first house, our local fishing shop has gone, it was nationally recognised and my old very good friend (sadly died) who owned the place designed and manufactured possibly the best rods ever for match and coarse angling (Normark), everyone knew about them around the country and overseas, way before the Internet... the shop couldn't compete in the end with the online world, it truly saddens me, it was a great place to spend an hour and get any local info you wanted, my first "proper" job as well... the list goes on...I think we survived perfectly well without the Internet, and as much as its great (I use it everyday for work) I wish we never had it.... ffs, I get young blokes coming to stay who can't even light a fire, never been off a game or phone...my Mrs or lad has to show grown men how to make and light a fire.... but they can use both thumbs when typing shit on their phone, and their beard and tats look great!! lol
