jjbull 38
not sure if you could define the breeds personnaly i think this came about from a local type hence the norfolk bitbefore people could travel i suppose they could only use dogs that were local to them and so most areas probably had there own type but why they have become this mystical dog i dont know maybe a traveler took one with him on his travels and people prefered them over there own local dogs who knows or who cares think you should treat every dog on its merits not its make up if its doing the business doesnt matter if its a shitzu cross or a saluki Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
The breed or "type" is so far gone, i seriously doubt anyone knows for sure, and the man that says he does know, is a liar, or a romancer, or is trying to sell you one. Quote Link to post

Guest HAWKEYE
I can show you 20 dogs round here that look like that..... Right all this comes from some photos of warrener reeves in a burrow with a big heavy mutt by his side IMHO what sort of basis is that to start a type on ? In 100 years time will some one found a welsh bull lurcher strain or a subaru lurcher strain based on Turks or Luckys pics? Doubtfull. Burrell is a chancer and to think EDRD give his articles ( and his columns :11: ) space in the mag is beyond belief ..he is a MESSER Pure and simple Quote Link to post
