This years season

How's everyone's season going ? 

A few years ago I landed on a good piece of permission, I've been taking my 2 young boys with me and they've been enjoying learning the trade.

I went up the other day for a quick walk around just me and the dog only to find it's been poached, alot of holes have been dug and not back filled, I never saw a rabbit, the dog never marked any holes.

There were healthy numbers 2 years ago now there's no sign.

It's a shame really, anyway rant over.

 On the plus side we have been asked to thin some rabbits on a hedgerow.

We will try to move them to an area of ground that I first started ferreting 30 odd years ago, see if we can repopulate it.

Been out a few times, walking miles,working hard for 3/5 rabbits...once we got a minimum of 3 for ferret food,we lift nets and bolt to the dogs...dont like to be greedy

We only took between 3-5 at a time be lucky to get that now

,All my spots are lifting with bunnies  but no one bothered  to go out , ya can only carry what one man can manage, so been getting 4 to 6 n coming  home  what can ya do ?

Hard work this year mainly because of so much rain, wind, warm weather and a late start.

Been steady average about 8 but today finishing a side of a hill and we only had one Lol.

We had our last day of 2023 today, hard going in the wind and rain but managed 54 I had the old bitch out today, her days out are limited these days now she is 11, this years kits are progressing well too cheers Neil B

Blessed with excellent ground that holds very good numbers, that was a quite day to be honest we are normally double that, our best day so far was 174
