Any of you lads fish for grayling? If so can you name any good rivers to visit for them, we dont have them here in Ireland but wouldnt mind visiting the mainland for a chuck at them.

Apparently we have quite a few in our stretch of the Ribble, some good ones as well I'm led to believe. If your in the northwest then your welcome to a day with me....I've never fished our stretch for em like and only ever caught two small ones on the stretch above.

My mate in Scotland lives near a loch that is full of wild browns, but they also catch charr and ferox. Strange thing is it's only a really shallow loch. I'm hoping to have a week up there in summer. I'll add a link to the loch if your ever up there

Very wild place up there, the river im in we are all fully wild browns and sea trout, get great runs of seas, maybe the odd salmon but they are late runners, we have good footage of the double figure brutes,

I've never had a salmon or sea trout.....not for want of trying.

We catch quite a few on the River Tone in Taunton, only coarse fishing so normally on maggot trotted along under a stick float...if you get over and come down this way your welcome for a day with us, there are a couple of free stretches that we fish normally... might not be quite the purist approach catching on a fly but you've more chance on maggot! 😁

As neil r said river calder at copley just outside halifax has some good grayling its only the otherside of the big hill from dido1

I forgot about the Yorkshire Calder . You’re right about the grayling there , I was shown some photos of some good ones from there when I was a member of Ryburn and Halifax . It was actually the Lancashire Calder that goes into the ribble I meant , it’s full of grayling and 2lb+ fish are not uncommon when I’m fishing the stickfloat .
