Borr 5,779 Posted December 23, 2023 Report Share Posted December 23, 2023 Had a Hancock, I'd say a fast type 3/4 grey, got staightlined by a hare in the lamp, think he thought it was a bunny it just pulled away until it was gone he turned around after 100m lol. Only ever caught one just out of its seat . While abroad the hares straight lined both my dogs most times we were out. One was a cockerpatt mind . Quote Link to post

I remember your Hancock bred dog, AND my son has owned a 3/4bred from him, a few associates of mine have owned dogs from him, plus I owned a dog sired by taffy, one of his stud dogs, to a locally bred very greyhoundy mongrel lurcher bitch, and NONE of them have been slow. All catching hares pretty regularly. Not saying you did, but did you try your dog on a hare when he was a bit too young, and not quite ready? There's a BIG difference between a rabbit's speed and a hare's speed. Quote Link to post
