That old photography game is good fun ain't it Brother,...I can see that you love it...🙏

Yeah,I love taking a few pics Phil..wish I could afford some better gear really but all that new camera gear both body & lenses are way out of my price range, those mirrorless camera's & body's especially the Olympus OEM's are perfect for us lot, both body & lenses are weather sealed & the combined weight of them even with a longer focal length then what my dslr setup's are weigh less than than either one of my dslr cameras alone & or even one of my telephoto lenses. The weight saving & size of a set-up like that would be unreal, had I looked after my gear better I could of probably cashed some of it in & bought a new set up but you know how it is,bumps, bangs, scratches, drops plus rain, snow, dust etc they take a bit of a beating when out hunting so basically they are worth jack s##t haha..the last camera I bought Phil had already taken 1.2 million images, the shutter life expectancy is 400k so was well past it's sell by date. Originally when new the said camera cost over £8500 & there ain't a chance even if I had the wonga ££££ I'd never pay that much. All my gear is used/second hand or probably 10th hand but I enjoy photographing stuff,I'm still hooked on watching vids on YouTube etc trying to learn the best settings for different conditions/situations & still not mastered it. I'll just keep on taking the pics & hopefully one day I'll get a good pic or two.

This was how Bear was every single day for a month after breaking his neck then another pic of him as he is now,I never went to bed for 30 day's,I turned him over every 2 hours to prevent him getting

Here's Boots on one of the many occasions I've worked him until almost his last breath, the dog has no quit in him,Bear & Rose his pups are exactly the same, all these dog's would lay their life on

Hope everyone has had a decent season running their dogs 👍🏻 ..another one comes to an end & that's about it for my old mongrel Boots too,he's let me know the past 4 or 5 trip's out he's had enough

Get the old heart pumping those encounters 😉 Has the dog done you proud on the likes of these mate?

He was handy enough on them bud or at least I thought so anyway. For being 'just' a Saluki lurcher he showed me thing's that no other lurcher I've ever owned could or would. Fantastic memories that will be forever etched into my mind, they will only die when I do. He wasn't the best at anything but he was a fair dog at pretty much everything from ferreting upto teeth & EVERYTHING in between,I lamped him scarcely throughout his working life but he still caught plenty in the hours of darkness. I took him across seas via ferry & from Oxfordshire down south to John O'Groats in the north of Scotland to test him,we didn't shy from anywhere or anything in a quest to see what he could do. I liked him anyways & that's all that matters to me,to some id expect he wouldn't of been no use to them as he was no world beater but he was ok in my eyes.

I've found that London Camera Exchange is pretty good for second hand cameras and is willing to haggle.

I bought my Lumix bridge camera from them eighteen years ago. It had been dropped by somebody else looking at it in the shop so had a scratch on the image cover so I got it for a little over half price.

I then traded it in for my son's Nikon for his birthday a couple of years ago as he's doing GCSE photography. If he doesn't take it to A level and loses interest in it...I might try to buy it off him.👍

I met a wildlife photographer a few months ago who showed me some fantastic shots he'd taken. He recommended Sigma as a good quality vs price alternative. Both the body and lenses were Sigma.

I've recently as in the last fortnight just bought a Sigma lens for a Canon camera bud,I watched numerous videos on YouTube regarding the lens & it seems to be a cracking lens, the one in question is the 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG,not the best lens in low light conditions but a F2.8 400mm lens which is good for low light will cost you about £15k lol. I purchased this one off the auction site in as good as new condition for £440 so I'll see how it goes,I also bought a 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 L series lens which is one of Canon's professional lenses being the L series but the newer mark 2 version of this lens is out of my price range so I've got the mark 1 version,it's seriously heavy & I can't see me going up any mountains with it,the Sigma is much lighter so I'll definitely be taking it up there,Sigma have really upped their game regarding camera & optics in recent year's & they certainly are worth looking at now if your wanting to get active with photography..I could do with some lessons from your son to be truthful as I just click the shutter button & hope for the best the majority of time 😁

I took these a couple of days ago with the Sigma 100-400mm,first impressions are positive anyway bud. I can't see much wrong with them anyway,I have had numerous Sigma lenses over the year's but none of their most recent from their Contemporary/Art or Sport selection until this one, like I said on a previous post to you they have really stepped up their game & their lenses are equal if not better than many of the so called bigger names ie: Canon,Nikon & Sony..good shout by you matey, hopefully anyone looking for an upgrade & or just starting out might be able to save themselves a few quid & buy Sigma gear.

Few pics from this afternoon, was our second wander of the day,a little earlier than the norm as it's forecast heavy rain here this afternoon & as I'm typing this I can see the rain on the window so thankfully we've just avoided a soaking which I'm personally very thankful for as I'm currently fecking crippled with both my back & hip,I've been unable to sleep for day's now & our wanders recently have been super slow & not too far either. I'm on a myriad of painkillers already but they ain't touching the pain, hopefully things will settle down again soon & trying to avoid a soaking as like today will definitely be a priority for the foreseeable future until I'm back to being a little more mobile. Trying to remove clothing is problematic, trying to remove wet clothing well it'll be a fecking nightmare. Anyhow,I took my first ever dslr camera today,it's 20 odd year's old now, compared to today's newer mirrorless gear it's a fossil, even compared to mobile phones too, still after all these year's it works as it did back then,an Olympus 8 megapixels dslr it is,I'm going to use it more regularly I think..why not eh 👍🏻
