The weight saving & size of a set-up like that would be unreal, had I looked after my gear better I could of probably cashed some of it in & bought a new set up but you know how it is,bumps, bangs, scratches, drops plus rain, snow, dust etc they take a bit of a beating when out hunting so basically they are worth jack s##t haha..the last camera I bought Phil had already taken 1.2 million images, the shutter life expectancy is 400k so was well past it's sell by date. Originally when new the said camera cost over £8500 & there ain't a chance even if I had the wonga ££££ I'd never pay that much. All my gear is used/second hand or probably 10th hand but I enjoy photographing stuff,I'm still hooked on watching vids on YouTube etc trying to learn the best settings for different conditions/situations & still not mastered it. I'll just keep on taking the pics & hopefully one day I'll get a good pic or two. If you get teh chance to try out the Fujifilm X series Mate then have a go, light but quality. I gave up my sponsorship/ambassador status wit hSony to get sponsored by Fujifilm ( I have the GFX 100ii Medium format series now and the Xh2 ) and the colours nad performance of the fujifilm stuff is unreal. Granted I don't use it for action but the xh2s is fast for sport stuff and the running dogs and the lenses are quite light. I wouldn't fancy lugging my 15k medium format kit up a mountain though. I'll stick to warm studios and the odd outdoor shoot 2 Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,208
Another wet, miserable day here in these parts, had two drenchings this morning with the dogs, hope things are better wherever you guy's are..this is without a doubt the poorest spring & now summer that I've ever lived through, today the temperature here is 10c,which for mid June is equivalent to a mid winter's day. Global warming my fecking a**e!!! Anyways here's one from waaaaaay back.. 4 Quote Link to post

'Boots,Bear,Don & Rose's here with my Cocker Spaniel Suzie,my Mrs pup Kali & last but not least her Patterdale Terrier Asher on the following post.. Quote Link to post

FUJI 17,208
Boots as a pup, here he is at 4 month's & 12 day's old on the first pic then again another 12 day's older on the second pic.. looking back he was never a problem rearing on,he self entered to all & everything, very easy dog to have around. 4 Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,208
At 5 month's old & again at 11 year's old, when out & about he has always been one for just taking a seat & surveying the area around him, scanning for the slightest movement, his daughter Rose is exactly the same, even when thing's are 'busy' they will still find the time to sit, weigh up the situation before making their next move..I often call them 'thick, backward & plenty more expletives' but i guess they are far more intelligent than I & know more about the game than i do. 2 Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,208
Sun's shining here today... finally!! Just finished my own dog's,that's them walked & fed,got two of my lads dog's to sort next which will no doubt take me a while yet but then I'm off out for the day..hope today is a good one for you all whatever it is your on with, enjoy the sunshine if you have it too ..watch how ya's all go. Couple of pics of old Don,he is the last dog of mine to carry the blood of the Minshaw dog's I first owned back in the mid 1980's so touching on 40 year's ago now, great dog's,great memories,I owe them all so much & thank them all for the work they done for me,truthfully I think of them all on a daily basis,I loved them all as I do my old Don dog,he's probably amassed more gear than the other 3 lurchers in Boots,Rose & Bear all put together..he's almost at the end of his life unfortunately but I always said it wouldn't be his heart or other organs that failed & seen him off,he's been absolutely granite through his life broken leg, blinded by a wayward hoof etc but nothing slowed him down, his zest for life & his work ethic ALWAYS has been exemplary, sadly his body is falling to pieces as I suspected it would. For one dog he's been some dog, just a lurcher x collie a true cur dog, daytime nighttime it all came alike to him,he caught many MANY hundreds of hoof during the day,he obviously wasn't slow as some may think,he caught treble figures on the bunnies multiple times whilst lamping too. The end of an era is nigh but his grandfather was the best the dog I've ever owned & his sire the second best so it doesn't surprise me that he too has been a cracking working dog..take care folk's.. Don Dog..a great dog who will always have a special place in my thoughts.. 14 Quote Link to post

I'll stick to warm studios and the odd outdoor shoot I think the day's of them big old dslr's & super heavy lenses are about over bud. I must have watched at least a thousand videos online regarding mirrorless camera's albeit not the Fujifilm so I will have to check them out thanks to you but I've not read or heard of one single person who regrets switching to mirrorless from dslr & obviously you doing what you do saying the same just say's it all to me. I'd take your word in a heartbeat over a million reviews online. I'm gonna check stuff out & jump onboard with everyone else,it just makes sense, especially the way I am now regarding having more bad day's than good with mobility issues & pain, thanks for the info bud I really appreciate it. I don't think I could even give all my gear away, it's all beaten up to death haha,I'll be lucky if they take it away in the rubbish bins! Cheers again matey, hope your all keeping well top man,I tell everyone that too,one of the best & kindest men I've ever met in my life. You deserve all the success in the world...watch how you go bud, hopefully have a catch-up at some point/somewhere. 1 Quote Link to post
