I'm in the dozer now the lads had to help me get up the tracks. Back feels like it's going to snap..heated seat has been on since 6:30..luckily I'm working with wet soft material so no bouncing about.. For me, it’s a lifetime of moving tons and tons of kit every week I reckon…..but driving machines is torture on your back, especially if it don’t have one of those tidy seats by Kab seating. I can drive a few machines (skills from a previous life) and even if I hire one in now my back is in tatters at the end of the day…..I think it’s just the posture coupled with your body movements( leaning forward, stooping, back arched etc ) that driving a machine makes you do. I think it’s one of those afflictions that when it’s got you, it’s got you for life and you just try and avoid / manage it…..mine went the other week again, a turn to glance over my shoulder while out in cold weather was enough….shite thing to have My back support is a real good job the wife got me, double strap neoprene thing that holds you together so you can walk….like all supports I only use it until the pain eases enough to do without it, otherwise it just makes thing weaker. DIDO.1 22,825
Would some of those jazz cigarettes that Mackem is an expert in not help at all, or the oils and stuff? 1

mel b 2,409
My back is shot to pieces . I have major permanent sciatica on the left hand side, and I haven’t really been able to feel my left foot for years . The only thing that has ever held it at bay is walking . I walk every day if possible, even if its only half a mile . If I can't walk for any reason, it starts to get rapidly worse within a couple of days.

That’s bad,as soon as I read SCIATICA I remembered when my lady worked on the cancer ward and all of her stories of bad backs and sciatica which were anything but and far more serious when checked out.

That shit really hurts, only pain I ever had tears and almost gave up with! The (non malignant) tumor was the easy part, crazily enough! I’m more scared of the the sciatica pain returning than the other! Figure that
