Early Shotgun Cartridge Cap

Recommended Posts

As you guys know I go metal detecting and often get plagued by old cardboard shotgun cartridge caps. Well the other day dug this one up and just slung in in my finds bag. After getting home tipped the crap out to have a look and realised this cap had a pin out the side and no centre percussion cap. I'd not seen one before so looked it up seems to come from about 1850 or there abouts.

Can just make out LONDON and maybe Eley,

Don't know if its of interest to any body collectors etc. if anybody wants it they are welcome if not its in the scrap bucket.

Didn't think so but you know what it's like when you sling something. Somebody wants it the next day.
