jukel123 7,957
A lot of gear surrounding field sports is the result of peer pressure and advertising. Men like uniforms for their hobbies. Like life, there's a lot of one upmanship. For a long time I was an inverted snob and used to turn up to fishing and stalking in basic ex army gear. Then I realised I was being an embarrassing dick, so now I play the game without going over the top money wise

That’s ok for lamping in the 1980’s with a leaking car-battery in a haversack but times change.Dido liked that coat,in his words it was spot on,it was a step-up the ladder from Chazza shop donations and hand me downs, now it’s a fading distant dream, reduced from knights Templar prospect to last of the summer wine Compo in one THL thread.

tatsblisters 9,472
It certainly looks a tidy coat but at that price in all honesty I think it's a bit over the top. I remember buying my first barbour in 79 a solway zipper I think it was called when most of the other lads had ex army gear or work's donkey jackets. I am happy with the ridgeline grizzly coat I have tbh wich is far better imo than the barbours I have had in the past.

Very seldom heard these days, a wonderful synonym for “stone” or “brick”. Also a euphemism for testicles, as in “ he took a kick in the clems “ also known as “clemmies”. Good to see the old words not forgotten! Cheers.
