Carpe diem, you want that coat, you NEED that coat, don’t talk yourself out of it,I knew when I saw your opening post “shall I get it?” YES get the coat,be decisive, you actually like that coat, you know y

Looks a cracking coat....  But imagine snagging it on barbed wire 1st time out, I reckon I'd actually cry... Lol

I'm as tight as cramp. I've been stalking on the estate my mate works on and sleeping on his couch. One of my mates put on a group chat "I'll be surprised if he's wearing his own clothes"...... I look

These are the dogs bollox. Im modelling this for the front page of the Shooting Times shortly.

I spent my youth wearing one of those. I wore it for my first gamekeeping job on a grouse moor. Always made me laugh seeing walkers up on the fells wearing mountain gear with massive backpacks.....I'd stride past em wearing a donkey jacket and my dad's steel toe cap wellies 😂

1200 notes for a coat ....f**k right off...

Honestly this 30 quid work coat from the company called Site is the most waterproof coat I've ever had...worked in the pissing rain under a leaking gutter one day for several hours ....it was like standing in a shower...not a warm coat but windproof and lightweight...fleece underneath if it's cold

Wait till you are an old man like me Dido. Your kids will then buy you fishing and hunting gear so you are not a total embarrassment to them. The more like Compo I look, the more they dress me up like a Shooting Times model.

Never fails mate. But its a long wait.

I know I read some bad reviews on them. Mine spent most of there life up on moors in the heather , maybe I was just lucky. But honesty kicked the arse out of em and always decent boots. Coat wise I like paramo now .

Split my first pair before I'd dug down 0.9 m to a dog, first time on 😬..3 pairs of these I had in green....feet stay drier in a pair of f***ing Crocs 🙄

BREDONHILLCOUNTRY.CO.UK

Best boots by far imo are Hiax cold weather ,I can abuse them work and play, last 2/3 seasons easy, dont know you got them on tbf,and at £30/£40 a pair grade 1 s..I would never buy another brand for full whack,so long as I got a hole in my arse😁

The problem with any technical waterproof gear is all it takes is a single thorn and your wondering why your shoulder is getting damp. They’re only good for 3-5 years before they’re f****d if you’re actually using them.

Im a f****r for having to have gear that fits just right so I understand what it’s like. I quite like musto for a smart nice fit hard shell. Their BR2 stuff seems reasonably priced for a few years of use and still look smart.

Not a chance I’d hand over a grand for a jacket.

I’d never criticise anyone for buying whatever they want, their money to spend as they like, but the way I go through field jackets, charity shops or ex army surplus suits me !
£1,200 for a coat seems insane to me, I’ve seen decent jackets for a quarter of that. I guess it’s like Barbour, you’re paying a (huge) premium just for the name.

But if you can afford it and want it….. buy it !

Cheers.

I've got savings but like a lot of my generation I can't bring myself to spend it. You never know when hard times are going to hit.

I wouldn't mind a bigger telly and a better bird room but I just can't justify the cost.

'Make do and mend' was my mother's mantra and I guess that goes for me too.

Snap.

I'm on easy street financially,  but I've been dirt poor and didn't like it. I never spend money on myself , I keep hold of it , just incase.
