Typical THL General debate.

Anyway back onto the subject. My brother was in residential social care for a while, I kid you not £1800 per week and they had ten of them in there, It was all about the money being independently owned and run, I talked to social services about my concerns and there answer was they new what it was like but there were little if any alternatives. All the council owned sites had been shut and sold off years ago.

The couple that owned this place and another on the same street had it sorted. They even purchased a holiday home in Cornwall, several mobile homes around the country and even a canal barge, All paid for by residents in the form of holidays, These holidays were not included in the £1800 per week. Social care as a business is just wrong and a disaster waiting to happen.

I have met lots of immigrants, legal and illegal plus lots of bogus students in UK and other places, the UK needs a total overhaul of the immigration system,a massive shakeup and sacking of innefectual staff, and implementing such policies as no dependants coming to UK with a skilled worker or student visa, they are coming to work or study NOT put down roots and settle.

I’m not disagreeing with you mate but biz is biz. If the care provided is up to scratch, why not as a company capitalise it?

Some people need specific types of care.

I’d bring my mum here tomorrow to live with me, so would my brother. She ain’t leaving that house unless it’s feet first. You try telling a woman who was born dead what to do

If you look deeply into our immigration policies including student Visa`s then its stupid, Even Old Molly`s chimps at the Twycross Zoo tea parties could not have made a worse job.

Been there and done that several times mate,  i made one promise to someone who was told they only had 2 weeks left, It took 2 years in the end, trust me when i say its not easy and it very nearly killed me, We looked after the Mother in law until she went into a coma again that took over a year, That's a long time to be a full time carer for someone and not earning anything, But the state does give you £60 for 24/7 care.

Actually it’s about old people kicking off in a nursing home

I was just replying to the living in another country and putting down roots bit, I wasn’t trying to be a dick mate. I came here for work and believe me, I have roots here now and so does the eldest.

Pic any subject from astrophysics to carpet-weave or the best fescue seeds to sow on a lawns bald patch, and on THL they will all eventually lead down the immigration path.

This Honduran lass I’m seeing at the moment. She’s a live in carer. She’s working the next 2 weeks. No breaks, always on call if the old dear needs her etc. Funny thing is, this lass has a law degree! An yet she chooses to do this work. You can’t as said, just pull someone off the rock and roll and expect them to have that in them but they should be forced with a choice imo

Getting in on the will! She ain't dumb ,law degree to make sure she's sole beneficiary! Befriend a few oldies, sorted for life 👌
