eastcoast 4,240
Genuinely sad when I heard this. The only other time I felt sad when a famous person died was when news broke of Gary Speed. Love Shane's songs and how he sang them. Never seen the Pogues in their pomp but went to plenty of the Christmas gigs. One time in Glasgow was probably the best, 2 days of happy partying. Another at Newcastle arena when after leaving to get drinks mid-concert I forgot how to get back to where I'd came from and eventually went through a door that was ajar and spent the rest of the gig back stage. One of those situations when everyone just assumed I must be with someone else who was supposed to be there. The company that I was meant to be with didn't get their drinks. As a plastic Paddy whose family hailed from county Leitrim the Broad Majestic Shannon is on the playlist for my funeral.
