patterdale 673
What bait did you use in the live catch traps? Quote Link to post
neil82 1,075
using peanut butter in my cage trap, bloody slugs clean it off every night, was thinking of wrapping some copper wire around the trigger plate to try and keep the buggers off the bait, anyone tried that or have some other ideas? A sprinkling of salt. The adhesive copper tape used by gardeners to protect potted plants . Putting the bait in a little pot with a lid with a couple of holes to let the scent out . Putting the bait in a foil package or plastic bag and hanging it behind the treadle . 3 Quote Link to post

I make up little wire baskets and hang over the trip plate keeps the slugs and mice off the bait. Works for Rats and Squirrels. Cheers Arry 4 Quote Link to post

darrren 414
Sorry for the delay gents. What I do in the live cage traps is get a pop bottle lid and like a little picture hanger hook and just force it in the the lid side, like screw it in with some force. Then just put a bit of peanut butter in the lid and the a pinch of chicken feed or catfood and hang at the back top corner. But just a bit of chicken feed on the plate also works but slugs do clean it off. 2 Quote Link to post
