Trout doesn't interest me as an eating fish, most take on an earthy taste that doesn't suit my pallet. 1 Quote Link to post
neil r 1,861
Just had 2-1/2 hours tonight , had a dozen jacks and 7 perch all on the pinky/purple nimble copy . Annoyingly I had about 20 small perch grab the lure just by the legs behind the hook . I could see them doing it in the clear water which was frustrating and it didn’t make any difference what I did with the retrieve 8 Quote Link to post

Borr 6,317
Well my gaffer is taking the Mickey out of me so I'm changing tactics, going the route of Ned rig , Louisiana, Texas type jobby in the hope of catching a decent perch and back to a heavy mono over knottable wire.. hes even engaging into chatting with passer bys and getting me to show them a picture of his fish lol, this was his perch...soon to be beaten by my new rig. Borr 6,317 Posted Tuesday at 13:55 Report Share Posted Tuesday at 13:55 Well I'm unemployed currently so been out for a new fishing permit , probably head out this week , try for a few perch on the canal... I had a chuck for 20mins earlier couldn't feel my fingers so I'll glove up for the next foray.... 2 Quote Link to post
Borr 6,317 Posted Tuesday at 18:16 Report Share Posted Tuesday at 18:16 Well piss poor planning , got snagged up, couldn't feel my fingers and struggled to see/ feel knots gonna rerig tonight and take two rods , maybe call in tackle shop for some Ned rigs. Apparently slow is the way forward in cold water . Probably set drop shot up with creature bait on light rod and rig the other up with a clip and tie able wire trace. Round two tomorrow .... 1 Quote Link to post
