NEWKID 27,205
Had my cousins down from Surrey, thought I'd show him a bit of ferreting, never tried any type of hunting before, so although not an anti, certainly not pro hunting ...he loved it, realised its not barbaric dogs ripping rabbits apart or any of that shit! Lucky enough Geth and Ollie came and gave us a hand only a short morning session managed 7 rabbits fairly easily no digs, dogs caught the majority and he loved seeing them work...top morning 17 Quote Link to post
Daniel cain 45,648
Looks like an enjoyable morning that KevEvery season,I like to try and introduce a couple of 'non-hunting' people to some ferretting...everyone has commented that it was nothing like they imagined...they leave with a better understanding on how it all works and the reason behind it... hopefully they pipe up,put across the benefits and defend us 3 Quote Link to post

terryd 8,497
Superb to see it don’t get any better. But know a days it’s like there is a big cloud hanging over it all because you know when his your age it will be a miracle if it’s not all outlawed. That said the youngsters are the future so we need to keep it going. The grand kids are coming if they like it or not. Don’t care what there mum says 3 Quote Link to post

Don’t care what there mum says I've had my kids out from the time they could walk, my lad often comes but certainly doesn't "love it" like I did/do.. my youngest daughter (nearly 16) had a go as I didn't wake her last time out, she never said she wanted to come, I'm.not a mind reader!! Lol I'm 47 in a few weeks, first went ferreting/lamping at 6 years old, I don't think my kids will be at it at my age, but they will certainly defend it.. My cousins bloke who I took out is 37, city lad...he won't be getting ferrets any time soon, but is a little wiser.. What I will say is Geths lad Olly, is as mad for hunting/fishing as I was at his age, I think he's 12 now, he absolutely loves it, great with the dogs, gets stuck in with the nets etc..I think he'll stick at it, I hope so cause me and Geth don't enjoy crawling through the hedges so much anymore!!
