In 2022 we deported under 1500 people. Rishi claimed today that he has deported 20,000 this year so far.....if that's true then then that's a big difference

I don't think the plan was ever to send thousands of illegal immigrants to Rwanda, I think it was mainly to act as a deterrent, send a couple of plane loads and hope the word went round that if you spend your families life savings to try and get to the UK, you might end up in some African shithole !

It's academic now, anyway, as no one is going to be sent before a general election, and Starmer has already gone on record as saying even if the courts allowed it, Labour would reverse it if/when they get into power.
