Move 'em indoors. It's cheaper.

I use the 80w tube heater in 1” insulated boxes. Personally I rate them. When it drops to freezing I’ll flick them on at night. Always feels cozy when I stick my hand in. My boxes are only small though.

Yeah,that's the plan,take the chill out of their beds,..I find they loose condition from severe temperatures,iim done with shavings/straw as it clogs up all the drains

Not saying your system is wrong in anyway but would that box filled with straw not be warm enough without the heater out of interest

Sorry but i never bothered with heaters, raised bed board filled with shredded wax paper and the two dogs were fine, never lost condition or showed any signs of being cold, when they get old bring them in, Just my opinion, others may have a different opinion.

As I wrote ,I've had a lot of grief from wax paper and straw etc blocking the drains ,so I'm done with that,this way I believe is trouble free

Maybe, I bed on shredded teabags in winter. A lot of lads wouldn’t bother with the heater but I would rather have one.

I have to admit in the winter when the dogs were going into the kennels wet, The wax paper stuck to them when drying, This then got into the drains but as long as you keep on top it it was not too much of a problem.

How are you going to place the heater and thermostat so they are  chew proof?

Yeah,I've experienced the same thing,...I'm keeping on top of nothing in my decrepit state lol...litter free kennels ,that's my dream
