BobDown 747
Got pulled on land we police and farmer. Accused me of hunting hares , took details etc and they fukt off. Been charged and summoned to court for trespass with intent to search for or pursue hare. The land in question has public path r8 threw it. I was seen about 50 yards off. Is it worth getting solicitor or stand my self? First time up in court for hunting related Edited November 14, 2023 by BobDown Quote Link to post

dodger 2,751
They don't even have a case against you by the sound of it, your just being accused of hunting hares whilst staying off a footpath getting your dog back which had no signs saying dogs must be kept on a lead and you haven't been caught poaching and coursing right? And as said regarding the solicitors.. Edited November 9, 2023 by dodger 4 Quote Link to post
dogmandont 9,802
Get yourself a good solicitor, it can be the difference between the cnuts throwing the book at you or a smack on the wrist. Best of luck with what ever you decide to do. 4 Quote Link to post

tatsblisters 9,436
I can only speak from a past incident before these silly hunting laws were introduced as i stood in court and said my dog killing this hare was an accident wile walking on a public footpath though it went against me because i had previouse but only got a 30 pound fine. Like others have said its best to get legal representation in the current climate my excuse in your case would be you went to retrieve your dog when it slipped its collar and ran off the public footpath if you have no previouse its a plausable excuse and don't forget solicitors cost money as i doubt you would get legal aid. 1 Quote Link to post
