ChrisJones 7,975
In Flanders' Fields John McCrae, 1915 In Flanders' Fields the Poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place: and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders' Fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe; To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high, If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though Poppies grow In Flanders' Fields. Lest We Forget...

(europe, burma) he was the same didnt talk much about his experiance , but when he did i could sit and listern all day. the 3 things that stick out most were . 1 he went in weighing 12 stone and came out weighing 7 stone ( they very realy got the suplies that were droped) 2 . they had suiside bombers running in the camps . 3 why the politicians cant sit round and sort it out !!!! swanseajack 228
What is Armistice Day? Armistice Day is on 11 November. A two minute silence is observed at 11am on 11th day of the 11th month because this is when the Great War, or World War 1, came to end in 1918. Now, this anniversary is used to remember all the people who've died in wars since World War 1. This includes World War 2, the Falklands War, the Gulf War, and conflicts in Bosnia, Rwanda and Kosovo. Lest we didn't know... We can't and shouldn't forget!

cindy 0
We are encouraged to support so many causes, yet today I saw a report about how so many of our war veterans are living out there final years on less £5000 pension a year (what’s that buy these days). I felt ashamed ,of my ignorance. The government has a hell of a lot to answer for, and depriving these guys the respect and dignity they deserve is a disgrace.
lucky 578
they fought and lost there lives for this country and now look at the state of it, nobody invades the u.k these days they just walk in and this country funds the b*****ds that will eventually take us down this goverment as destroyed this country and imo all the wars were just delaying the eventual downfall of this country :realmad:
