It's maddening when you can remember the canals being heavily polluted and in the last 30 years seeing them come alive again with fish again to be plundered by these foreign b*****ds. Been there myself mate.. one or 2 of us and a big dog was usually enough to shift the local idiots but these days ,the waters I look after are mile round trip... so a few well placed trail cameras gets their faces, voices and number plates... saves you sitting out for them...or at least you learn their habits and can get a nice welcoming party ready

There was one group who would drive around the area in a big green Merc Sprinter van and drop 3 or 4 kids off at a number of sites, To be honest that was the hardest ones to deal with. One local lake lost half its stock of Carp and numerous other fish after one of there Gill nets had come adrift and been collecting more fish daily for who knows how long, I personally have removed numerous long lines, Plastic milk bottles baited with floating baits and tethered to the banks. They are a menace.

Ive got a few Eastern European lads as members to our fishing club ...everyone of them is Tidy tbf...they even do some bailiffing for us...we have found 2 different gill nets stretched across the river in the last 3 seasons...dont get them chancing it on the bank so much now..you find them sat down next to a campfire, pretending to be all innocent....tell em its private land and no fires then move them on... then find the night lines they leave
