Shamo 319
I was out shooting the other day and down through the Woods came a little figure, with something hanging from it. As it got closer I saw it was a Sparrow Hawk carrying a live Blackbird! She flew down right in front of us the length of a Stream, around 100 yards and then disappeared, the Blackbird was screaming all the way, sent shivers down my Back. Often see wild Gos's chasing Partridge and Pheasant too, while out beating on the same place. The Keeper said he caught two young Goshawks last Year in the Pigeon Trap, fat and full of already trapped Pigeon!! Quote Link to post
jasper65 6
Nicely done Spar , adding a nice Yellow Bill to the book is always a bonus. out of the 4 females I think you're the only person who got out and flew one, I heard from one guy who couldn't get his going and the other slapped his in for breeding. Timmy has now made up a couple of pairs down his now and I'm shifting a Gos down there earley in the week ... ATB Jasper Quote Link to post

No idea mate! the amount of Numpties that buy them with the intention of flying them but never do is Unreal. you're the only person I know out of both clutches who did one justice!! you've been the man on a mission mate ..... I had a small female called "Martha" about 3 years back flying at 7 1/2oz's, she was Hacked back and realeased. she wasn't big but Real gamey taking magpies and a Collard dove flown off the wire at the end of my road, I had another in the past called "Alex" in the past that was bigish as far as spars go, she flew near on the 8 3/4oz mark when in condition...
