Like most modern-ish cars, they can suffer from mysterious electrical faults and sensor problems. In general though, any estate by Vauxhall,Ford and Peugeot are roomy and reliable. Also worth considering is the Citroen ZX estate, quite a few about and very robust motors. Early Toyota models also seem to maintain the high reliability which they are famous for. dytkos 17,864
Best value estate I ever had, Suzuki Baleno. Air Con, all electrics, air bags, cheap to run and insure, decent performance and Escort size. Never had a spanner on it for 3 years. Get an S or T one now for less than 12-1500 quid. Missie 1
I have a Subaru Legacy estate and I love it! I picked it up for £2000 on a 99 plate just over a year ago. The only thing is they are not cheap on parts and a bit juicy. However i've never had a moments trouble from it which is more than I can say for any of my other cars. My uncle has a Toyota estate, a Corolla I think and they have had nothing but good things to say about it. I had an Avensis estate as a courtesy car when some silly bitch drove into my (parked) car and I loved that, brilliant on the diesal too but too new to be cheap. I would never have another Ford but thats just my personal opinion.
