But it's partly our fault for thinking that if we put these people in civilised society they will behave like us.

It doesn't work! Think of all the stabbings and knife crime in our cities, mostly kids of African or Asian background, they form gangs and prey on each other, just like the tribal behaviour their ancestors showed. Something like 80% of knife crime in London is committed by or on ethnic minorities that make up about 20% of the population. The lefty do gooders put it down to poverty or lack of opportunity but that's utter crap. It seems no political party has got anyone with guts enough to stand up and tell the truth.

Maybe they don’t want it solved ?……maybe that’s the way they have done it for thousands of years and that the way they will continue to do it, what business is it if ours as long as they are only slaughtering each other ?

That why it didn’t make sense to do in Saddam Hussien the second time of asking as far as I’m concerned, we put him back in his box the first time and he kept all his own shit in order in his own land from then on just as he had always done……then we create a vacuum by removing the man with the biggest stick and not allowing anyone to inherit that stick and it’s carnage ? 
 

As I say, you’d have top trumps when it comes to the Arab world but it’s just how I view it from afar.

Anyhow, I didn’t say we could or should try to solve the Middle East problem, I was simply stating some facts to show that we were at least partly to blame for it.

Another bit of Middle East history that is often forgotten about is the agreement the British had during WW1 with Prince Faisal and his brother Sharif Ali of the Hejaz, (now the west of Saudi Arabia).

In return for starting the “Arab revolt “ against the Turkish Ottoman Empire, ( Lawrence of Arabia), after the war when we partitioned up the Middle East with the French, we would make two new countries for them to be kings of. Which we duly did. Part of Palestine and part of Iraq was made into Transjordan and given to one of the brothers and the rump of Iraq given to the other brother, to form two new Hashemite kingdoms.

This lead to the al Saud family coming out of what is now Kuwait and taking over much of the Arabian peninsula, including the Hejaz and forming the modern kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

It was like a huge game of chess, with the British and French moving the pieces!

So for anyone to say it’s nothing to do with us is simply wrong, but there’s nothing we can do now to solve it.

What " consequences " ?...........the winners dont have to hand back the trophy with a sorry letter......if they choose to they choose to but its not a consequence of winning !
