Tastes nice,I am at a thanksgiving party tomorrow and there will probably be salmon, crappie and walleye.

Sounds good mate, had salmon the other night with garlic green beans but I bet it won't taste as good as what you get there at the moment. Do you think it starts to  loose taste the longer out the water

Who ate that, Topcat?

The ponds you see in big farm house gardens and larger houses are called stew ponds and they were living larders from a time when we were god fearing christians that ate fish on a friday, carp and per

True, zander are prized, but the 'No Kill' attitude is a lot more common. Eaten catfish a couple of times, 1st time was at a hunt repas, hot in a creamy tomatoe sauce & was handsome. 2nd time

Eaten catfish a couple of times, 1st time was at a hunt repas, hot in a creamy tomatoe sauce & was handsome. 2nd time was cold in mayo & was okish. Got one I need to remove from the lake, so it may be harvested, but ill probably re-locate it.

Eaten loads of crayfish out of my lake, just grab the middle tail fin and twist 90% ish left then right, it dislocates, then slowly pull & all the unnecessary comes out - no need to purge. Gonna knock up a lobster type trap for them next year.

Trapped a big lobster sized one just him and a load of claws inside trap reckon he went in for a snack lol then scared others from going in.

Cat fish I saw cooked on YouTube was marinated in a hot sauce rolled in bread crumbs then deep fried, I would definitely ate that looked real good.

They are cannibalistic, so the experts say chuck back the bigger ones. I chuck em in a pan myself.

I fished for salmon since I was 12 or 13,had lots over the years, most I ever got in a weekend salmon and sea-trout was around 120’ish fish but that was when I was a kid and very enthusiastic.Always preferred fresh wild fish, the ones I have had recently I filleted them on the bank and put them straight on ice, nothing is as good as fresh.

I'm certain the big carp eventually recognised then as food as had one chucking up bits of shell. Also coincided with sudden weight gain and pristine condition

The ponds you see in big farm house gardens and larger houses are called stew ponds and they were living larders from a time when we were god fearing christians that ate fish on a friday, carp and perch were favorites on old english tables and the larger house and farms had them as the owners were rich enough to have them dug in the first place. Just a bit of factual history for some of you that might not have known,,,:victory:

I pull signal crays straight out the lake and into a pan of boiling water no need for anything else apart from a jar of 1000 islands sauce to dip them in, have ate most other forms of course fish as well all just cooked on the fire as a kid all bland boney white meat with the exception of zander that is actually very similar to bass 👍👍

Bass is completely over rated
